FRESNO (KRON) -- Phillip Garrido is now at the prison where he will spend the next 431 years for the kidnapping and rape of Jaycee Dugard.

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation says Garrido arrived Thursday at Corcoran State Prison in King's County.  His wife, Nancy Garrido took up residency Wednesday at the Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla to serve her 36-years to life sentence.

Right now Phillip Garrido is in a cell segregated from the other inmates while he's processed into the prison.  Eventually officials say they'll likely place him in the Protective Housing Unit at Corcoran.  That's the unit where other high profile prisoners like Charlie Manson are held to keep them safe from other inmates.

Nancy Garrido remains in the Chowchilla Reception Center.  Officials at the prison say her long-term housing needs are still to be determined.

The Garridos were sentenced on June 2nd after pleading guilty to kidnapping the then eleven-year old Dugard from her South Lake Tahoe home and forcing her to live in the backyard of the couple's Antioch area home.
