SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The Castro and West Portal Muni stations are now open and service is running smoothly, KRON 4's Christine Connolly reports. Crews had been working to restore service in the Muni Metro tunnel after a train derailed Friday morning.
Shuttle buses are still running during Friday's evening commute, Christine said.
Some residual delays are to be expected.
The delays were caused from the derailment of a train just after it had pulled out of the Castro Street station at 6:30 a.m. Friday.  Officials had said they found no significant damage to the tracks. Officials praise the train operator and the Castro Street station agent for evacuating passengers back to the station.
