POSITION: SHOWCASING/SEGMENT PRODUCER

DEPARTMENT: NEWS

REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE PRODUCER/NEWS DIRECTOR

DATE OF POSTING: March 12, 2012 (POSITION IS OPEN UNTIL FILLED)

This will be a full time, non-union, non-exempt position.

RESPONSIBILITIES/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Create daily newscast opens and teases using video, graphics and creative writing

• Demonstrated ability to use state of the art graphics technologies, digital editing systems

• Work with newsroom managers, producers and reporters to develop story and segment showcasing

• Work with graphics designer and creative service to advance station branding

• Must also be able to fill-in as a line producer for fast-paced news shows

• 3 – 5 years experience producing compelling newscasts in a medium to major market

• Management reserves the discretion to add or modify job duties as required

• College degree or equivalent in journalism/communications or broadcasting preferred

• Must be a self-starter, hard worker, have a great attitude, and be versatile and efficient
