SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Starting on Monday, you'll be able to use your smart phone to call for a taxi that will offer you a traffic-free ride to your destination, as long as it's along the San Francisco or Marin waterfronts.
Tidelines Marine Groups is launching the City's first water taxi service. The taxis will be available at several docks in San Francisco, Tiburon, and Sausalito.
"With the technology coming out you'll be able to see our boat, hail our boat, be on it quickly and efficiently and when we expand it's going to be a game changer," Ryan Craves with Tidelines tells KRON 4 News. "In fact the name of our first boat is named "Game Changer" so as more come out it's going to easier to use, we're really excited to bring the service to the Bay Area."
Tidelines is one of two companies with licenses to operate the water taxis. The company hopes to have three boats operating by the end of the year.
