(SAN RAFAEL) -- An elderly woman is injured after a car went out of control and ran her over near a Farmer's Market in downtown San Rafael Thursday.
The 78-year old woman was walking on Fourth Street when the older model Chevy Blazer came onto the sidewalk and hit her. The vehicle later ended up inside the L:undy's Home Cooking restaurant.
The victim was pinned underneath the vehicle until emergency crews could free her and take her to the hospital.
Investigators say the 55-year old El Sobrante man driving the Blazer was a vendor at the Farmer's Market and was trying to position his vehicle for the event. He was taken to the police station for questioning and later released.
Authorities say there's no evidence the driver was impaired on alcohol or other drugs at the time of the accident.
