SAN JOSE (KRON) -- Two San Jose men are in custody following arrests this week for their alleged involvement in a homicide that happened in June, police said.
24-year-old Luis Ramos and 19-year-old Jose Gutierrez were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail in connection with the San Jose's 19th homicide.
On June 12, at approximately 6:19 PM, San Jose police received reports of a shooting on the 900 block of Owsley Avenue. Officers arrived and located the victim, identified as 17-year-old Leonel Farias of San Jose, on the corner of Owsley and Lucretia avenues, suffering from at least one gunshot wound, police said.
Farias was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries. The shooting is believed to be gang-related; however, the circumstances and motive of the shooting remain under investigation. No arrests arrest have been made in this case, said police.
