BART Considers Flexible Parking Costs at Busy Stations

OAKLAND (KRON) -- It could soon cost more to park in BART's busiest lots if authorities approve a planned change in the way rates are calculated.
Under the proposal, the cost of parking at lots that fill up quickly in the morning would rise as little as 50 cents and as much as $3 per day. Monthly rates at those busy lots could go up as much as $10.50.
On the other hand, lots like Daly City that are often empty could see prices go back down.
Many commuters tell KRON 4's Justine Waldman they might considering giving up on riding BART if the cost of parking becomes prohibitive.
