SANTA CLARA (KRON) -- The 49er Faithful greeted their team with enthusiastic cheers on their return from the Super Bowl on Tuesday, in spite of their 34-31 loss to the Ravens in New Orleans.
The Niners arrived at San Jose Mineta International airport just after 3:15 p.m. in a chartered Delta jet. They could be seen waving to fans and media assembled outside the tarmac as they left the plane and entered buses that would take them to team headquarters in Santa Clara.
As they arrived outside the team compound, more fans cheered them and waved wildly to show their support.
"It was a great game, and we came up short, but we have a fantastic team and a bright future ahead of us," said a diehard fan.
