VALLEJO (KRON) -- A two or three year old girl is receiving treatment after someone shot her while she slept early Friday morning in Vallejo. "This is a horrible and unfortunate incident," Vallejo Police Lt. Lee Horton told KRON 4's James Fletcher. "This child was sleeping at home with her parents. We get the call of a shooting victim in the 500 block of York Street in Vallejo. Apparently the suspect fired some shots from the alley and shot the girl while she was sleeping." Lt. Horton says it appears the shooter was targeting the home. Investigators aren't releasing a possible motive or suspect description at this time. The child was taken directly to the hospital where she was still undergoing surgery hours after the shooting. (Copyright 2009, KRON 4, All rights reserved.)
