San Francisco Boys and Girls Choruses Lift Their Voices as Part of Inaugural Festivities
Created by Brian Shields on 1/20/2009 8:43:00 PM

WASHINGTON D.C. (KRON) --  It's a memory few are likely to ever forget as a group of children from the Bay Area played an important role in the Inaugural of President Barack Obama.

Young performers from the San Francisco Boy's Chorus and the San Francisco Girl's chorus came together to sign three pieces in advance of the swearing in.

KRON 4's Terisa Estacio traveled with the local kids to find out how they are coping with the security and pressures of performing on the world's largest stage.

The choruses, which are separate organizations but which performed together at the inaugural, sang three selections:  "America the Beautiful", "An American Hymn", and the "Hymn to Freedom."  California Senator Dianne Feinstein asked the local singers to be a part of the event as part of her role as the Chair of the event.

Enjoy all three performances in the player to your left.
