Created by Kimberlee Sakamoto on 7/10/2009 1:19:00 PM

CUPERTINO (BCN) – The CHP is reporting that a woman died in an apparent hit-and-run crash that blocked an on-ramp to southbound Interstate Highway 280 in Cupertino for almost three hours Friday afternoon.

The crash was reported between a big rig and another vehicle at about 12:30 p.m. on the Wolfe Road on-ramp to southbound Highway 280, CHP Officer Jeff Serena said.

A woman was apparently ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries, Serena said.

The big rig apparently fled the scene.

The Wolfe Road on-ramp to southbound Highway 280 was shut down until about 3:20 p.m. while authorities investigated the crash, according to  Serena.
