EL SOBRANTE (KRON) -- The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District is looking for your help in finding the person or people who set a dozen vehicles on fire early Wednesday morning.
The fires happened in six different locations all close to San Pablo Dam Road in El Sobrante and neighboring Richmond. The arsons resulted in at least $120,000 in damages, district spokeswoman Emily Hopkins said in a written statement.
Richmond firefighters responded to the first alarm at about 2:50 a.m. Wednesday where they found a vehicle on fire at 3535 El Portal Road near San Pablo Dam Road. About a half an hour later Contra Costa fire units got reports of two cars on fire at 4150 San Pablo Dam Road.
Less than an hour later fire district unions found another car ablaze about three blocks away on San Pablo Dam Found. Twenty-five minutes later another fire alarm went out on San Pablo Dam Road at May Roud. More cars were found on fire just more than two hours after the first alarm on De Anza Drive just north of San Pablo Dam.
There are no reports of injuries. Investigators are looking for a connection between all of the apparent arson attacks.
