Shannon Fox still sought Monday as a "Person of Interest" in Hit-and-Run accident

      MENLO PARK (BCN) -- Police in Menlo Park are still trying to locate a person of  interest in Thursday afternoon's hit-and-run crash that killed a 6-year-old  girl and seriously injured her mother.

      The San Mateo County coroner's office has identified the girl as  Lisa Xavier, of Menlo Park.

      The crash occurred just before 2 p.m. at the intersection of  Willow Road and Bayfront Expressway. The mother and daughter were taken to  Stanford Medical Center with serious injuries. Lisa died the next afternoon.

      Police spokeswoman Nicole Acker said this morning that  investigators have been looking for East Palo Alto resident Shannon Fox, 24,  since he was identified as a person of interest in the case on Friday.

      Menlo Park police have shared information about Fox with other  agencies and the public in hopes of locating him, she said.

      A preliminary investigation indicates that two cars were street  racing when one of them crashed into the car containing Xavier and her  mother.

      Surveillance footage from a nearby business indicated that the car  that caused the crash ran a red light before hitting the victims' car, police  said.

      The driver of the car that ran the light exited the wrecked car,  got into the other car involved in the street race, and sped away, police  said.
