Two Pedestrians Hurt in Separate San Francisco Accidents

SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) -- Two pedestrians were struck by vehicles and severely injured Monday morning in separate but near-simultaneous incidents near San Francisco City Hall and in the city's Bayview District.

    In the first, a 54-year-old woman was hit by a car at about 6:30  a.m. while crossing the street at Van Ness Avenue and Grove Street, San  Francisco police Lt. Lyn Tomioka said.

    About 10 minutes later, another woman was hit by a vehicle near  Quint Street and Palou Avenue in the Bavyiew, Tomioka said.

    Both victims suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken to  San Francisco General Hospital, where both were undergoing surgery  mid-morning.

    The drivers in both cases pulled over afterward and no arrests  have been made.

New Comment Part of life, unfortunately, in an urban city. Both the walkers and the drivers should be more careful. One should got Europe to see some really bad traffic situations. Try Paris, Rome or Athens, to see what this is all about. Is there a cure? Yes, ban human nature. t
