LOS GATOS (BCN) -- Two people suspected in a string of auto and home burglaries in Los Gatos were arrested Monday morning.
Officers were notified Sunday that 10 auto and home burglaries had occurred overnight in the 15800 block of Camino Del Cerro, along Adrian Place, and in the 300 block of Escobar Avenue.
On Monday morning, an officer on patrol stopped a suspicious vehicle on Camino Del Cerro and found that both the driver and passenger were on probation. The driver, identified as Billy Auston, 29, also had a suspended license.
A search of the vehicle turned up property allegedly stolen in the burglaries, police said.
Items were also recovered from bushes at Camino Del Cerro and Luray Drive.
The items included a Hewlett-Packard laptop, purses, credit cards, a digital camera, jewelry, a Coach wallet, gift cards, cash, a portable DVD player, and a Dell computer.
Auston and his passenger, Monica Verni, 23, were arrested for possession of stolen property, police said.
Police believe the pair burglarized both locked and unlocked vehicles, smashing the windows of the locked cars to gain access.
In one case, police said, they allegedly entered an unlocked car parked on the street in front of a home in the 100 block of Blossom Glen Way and used a garage door opener inside of the glove box to get into the home's garage.
Inside the garage, they allegedly burglarized another unlocked car, removing a purse and wallet, police said.
Police are continuing to investigate and urge anyone with information about the case to contact Detective Erin Lunsford at (408) 827-3209.
