CONTRA COSTA CO (BCN) --  The Contra Costa County coroner's office determined in an autopsy  today that an 18-year-old Martinez man whose body was found on the side of  the road in an unincorporated part of the county Monday was strangled and  suffered a blunt force injury to his head.

      Eric Bean was found lying on the side of McEwen Road about a mile  north of state Highway 4 shortly after 10 a.m. Monday, according to the  Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office.

      Bean was pronounced dead at the scene, and detectives  investigating the case ruled his death a homicide.

      No suspects or a motive for the killing have been identified as of  today, according to the sheriff's office.
