BERKELEY (KRON) -- A woman is now getting medical attention after she got sick and apparently fell onto the tracks at the Downtown Berkeley BART Station during the Tuesday morning commute. BART Spokesman Linton Johnson tells KRON 4's George Rask there were no trains in the station or about to arrive when the woman fell. Emergency workers managed to get her off the tracks and onto the platform while avoiding the high voltage electrical panel that powers the trains. For a while trains passing through Downtown Berkeley station had to share a single track. Both tracks were eventually re-opened but delays of nearly a half an hour were reported through much of the Bay Area Rapid Transit system. (Copyright 2008, KRON 4, All rights reserved.)
