SANTA ROSA (KRON) – The Sonoma County coroner’s office say they’ve identified the skeletal remains found by county road workers near Lake Sonoma earlier this month.

Coroner’s detective Leslie Comrack says the remains are those of 62-year-old Peter D. Nielsen of Cloverdale. Nielsen’s wife reported him missing in July.

The cause of death has yet to be determined, but Comrack says foul play is not suspected, “We can’t deduce a lot from his physical condition.”

County road workers found the remains on March 3rd at Stewart’s Point and Skaggs Springs Road in northern Sonoma County.
