VIDEO: Arrests made in deadly shooting of man selling iPhone at San Leandro gas station

ALAMEDA COUNTY (KRON) -- Authorities arrested two men accused of killing a man they met at a San Leandro gas station to buy his used iPhone last month.

Jordan Patton, 18, of San Francisco, and Marcus Fortune, 18, of San Leandro, have been charged with the murder of Daniel Carlos, who was shot and killed on Nov. 18 at the 76 gas station on East 14th Street, according to Sgt. Ray Kelly of the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.

Carlos, a 32-year-old Redwood City father, had gone to the gas station to sell his used iPhone to the suspects, who he had met through an online app called "Letgo" on which people list items that they want to sell.

Deputies say during the meeting, Carlos was robbed of the phone and shot.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sgt. Kelly says Carlos was a husband and father to a 5-year-old daughter.

GoFundMe account has been set up to help this family.

Anyone with further information about this crime is urged to contact the Alameda County Sheriff's Office at 510 667-3636.
