Coroner identifies woman, 2 children killed in Fremont crash

FREMONT (KRON) - All three people killed in a crash Tuesday night in Fremont have been identified.

A woman and two children were killed by a driver accused of being under the influence of marijuana.

The kids have been identified as 9-year-old Brooke Limas and 14-year-old Christy Limas.

The woman has been identified as 39-year-old Noelle Johnson of Manteca.


Sources tell KRON4 that Johnson is the girlfriend of Chris Limas, the father of the two children killed in the crash.

The five-car accident happened around 9:30 p.m. on northbound 880 between Auto Mall Pkwy. and Stevenson Blvd. 

All three victims were ejected from an Escalade and pronounced dead at the scene. Another five people, including a baby, were taken to the hospital. They were all riding in the same car.

The two children were students with the Manteca Unified School District.

On Wednesday, the District released the following statement: 

"We were saddened to learn fo the tragic death of two of our Manteca Unified School District students. Yesterday evening, multiple vehicles were involved in a fatal car crash on the North side of Interstate 880 in Fremont. We extend our thoughts and prayers to the families during this difficult time. We also offer our condolences to Brock Elliott Elementary school and Sierra High school students and staff members.
We encourage families to be especially sensitive and prepared to offer support to their children during this time. District staff inclusive of additional counselors will be on site to offer support throughout the week.
If you have any concerns about your child’s reactions to this loss, feel free to contact your child’s teacher, the school counselors, or the administrative staff.”

21-year-old Dang Nguyen Hai Tran of San Jose was arrested on suspicion of DUI, CHP said. He was driving a white Toyota Camry.
