Lydia Pantazes

Lydia Pantazes joined the KRON 4 News team in September 2016.

Lydia grew up in National City, California  and says her parents inspired her to pursue her education no matter the obstacles.

She's spent the last five years reporting in Texas for both CBS Austin and Telemundo Austin in both English and Spanish on a daily basis.

During her time in Austin she partnered with the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force led by the U.S. Marshals Service and launched "Marshals' Most Wanted" a weekly segment focused on capturing violent & dangerous fugitives in Central Texas.

Prior to working in Texas, Lydia spent ten years working as an Anchor, Reporter & Weather Anchor at KCOY & KKFX on the Central Coast of California. During her time on The Central Coast she was recognized as one of the most influential Latinas on the Central Coast by Latino Today Magazine.

Lydia is an award winning journalist with accolades from the Associated Press Television and Radio Association and The Radio & Television News Association.

"I feel honored that people trust me and allow me to tell their stories. My main goal as a journalist is to be a voice for people and make a difference," says Lydia.

Lydia has been involved in organizations who help people with developmental disabilities. She cares for her sister who has Down syndrome and is excited to get involved with different organizations in the Bay Area

Lydia is a long time member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and helped relaunch the NAHJ Chapter in Austin where she served as Chapter President.
