Man attacks victim with cane at UC Berkeley

BERKELEY (KRON) -- A man attacked a victim with a cane in Berkeley on Thursday, police said.

The attack happened at around 11:58 a.m. near the Tang Center. A man told police he was attacked from behind by a man with a cane at Ellsworth and Durant.

Police searched the area but could not find the suspect. The victim suffered an injury to the back of the head.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 40 to 50 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with short, black hair. He had brown eyes and was wearing a red waterproof jacket.

He was carrying a black cane.
