Stephanie Lin is an award-winning journalist for KRON 4 news. She anchors live, breaking news coverage for the station’s 24/7 streaming service, KRONon, and the Weekend Morning newscasts.
Prior to joining KRON 4, Stephanie anchored and reported for KCRA 3, the NBC affiliate in Sacramento, California. There, she led the station’s coverage of massive demonstrations stemming from the death of George Floyd. Her reporting took viewers to the front lines of the state’s many destructive wildfires, including the Caldor Fire which forced the evacuation of the Lake Tahoe region.
Stephanie also covered the San Jose VTA railyard mass shooting, President Trump’s response to the deadly Camp Fire and the historic election of the country’s first directly elected Sikh female mayor. Her questioning of elected officials’ handling of COVID-19 vaccine distribution helped hundreds of seniors gain access to their first potentially life-saving dose. Stephanie also sat down with state lawmakers and the FBI to discuss steps to address the rise in anti-Asian attacks and hate crimes in California.
Before her life in news, Stephanie developed global marketing campaigns for top venture-backed gaming and tech start-ups in the Bay Area. She worked in partnership with major entertainment brands, including Marvel, LucasFilm and Hasbro on branding integration, and served as an on-camera spokesperson.
Stephanie has been recognized for her work by the Associated Press, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Society of Professional Journalists and the Asian American Journalists Association. She graduated from UC Berkeley and began her news career in Taiwan at TTV, a 24-hour cable news channel. She then joined the ABC 20/20 team, where she worked on long-form, investigative stories. She also worked at the TODAY show, CNBC, Saturday Night Live and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
