4 Things You Need To Know About Breast Augmentations

1) Breast Augmentation can change your life.

Many patients feel more confident after Breast Augmentation. Clothes fit better and their bodies are better proportioned. Some patients achieve proportions they never had, while other women are able to restore the curves lost to pregnancy, weight loss or aging. Taking control of ones body is empowering, though it important to to have reasonable expectations. Be certain to discuss your goals with your plastic surgeon, so the best possible choices can be made.

2) Breast Implants do not last forever.

Even FDA approved breast implants are not "lifetime" devices. They can wear out before you do, so expect to have Breast Revision Surgery in the future. Common reasons for revision include changes associated with pregnancy and weight gain or loss, failure of the implant, tightening of the breast implant pocket and the desire to change the size or styles of implants.

3) Not all "Plastic Surgeons" are real Plastic Surgeons.

While plastic surgery cannot be guaranteed, you can increase your chances of a great result by choosing an experienced, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in your area. Reliable indicators of a qualified Plastic Surgeon include certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and active memberships in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

4) Breast Augmentation Financing is available.

When it comes to plastic surgery, cheaper is not better. Most plastic surgeons offer financing options to help meet your budget while providing you the safest and most predictable results. Often, cheaper means corner-cutting and a higher chance of additional, expensive operations. Safe, predictable operations are more likely when performed in the proper environment, with anesthesia monitoring and by an experienced, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Don’t forget, you are making an investment in your body, and your health.
