A 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly participating in illegal sideshow activity at the San Leandro Marina Tuesday evening.

According to the San Leandro Police Department, at 5:00 p.m. officers received several calls from residents and visitors at the marina who reported seeing several cars spinning donuts in the parking lot.

By the time officers arrived at the scene, the illegal activities had already stopped.

Officers remained at the scene to prevent another sideshow.

At 6:45 p.m. officers witnessed a white, 1988 BMW 325i spinning donuts in the middle of the parking lot, filling the air with smoke from the burning, rear tires.

Police say a bystander who was associated with the vehicle, was recording the reckless driving.

Officers immediately stopped the BMW and arrested the driver who was identified as 22-year-old  Andrew Robles-Lara of Grass Valley.

His vehicle was also impounded and will remain at a tow yard for up to 30 days.

Please remember, sideshows are illegal and dangerous to everyone involved.
