4.7-magnitude earthquake rattles South Bay

GONZALES (KRON) — An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.7 struck Gonzales Monday morning, according to United States Geological Survey.

The quake struck at 11:31 a.m. and was centered about 13 miles northeast of Gonzales, which is about 75 miles south of San Jose.

It had a depth of about 3.8 miles.

The earthquake was felt in parts of the South Bay.

The National Weather Service office in Monterrey tweeted the quake was felt in their office, 25 miles southeast of the epicenter.

Even people in San Francisco said they felt the quake.

Police and fire officials in and around the area reported no immediate damages, injuries or other problems.
