ALAMEDA COUNTY (BCN) — Voters in Alameda County will be able to drop off vote-by-mail ballots at new drop-off sites without paying postage until the polls close for the June 7 primary.

The secure ballot drop-off boxes are available in 14 Alameda County cities and are available anytime at no cost for vote-by-mail ballots.

Voters can drop off vote-by-mail ballots until the polls close at 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Another voting option is a special ballot “drop stop” available on June 4 and 5 and on June 7 in front of the Rene C. Davidson Courthouse on Fallon Street in Oakland. Alameda County voters will be able to hand off vote-by-mail ballots without getting out of their cars.

During other times, the new 24-hour drop boxes are available outside City Hall buildings in the following cities: Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, Dublin, Emeryville, Fremont, Hayward, Livermore, Newark, Oakland, Piedmont, Pleasanton, San Leandro and Union City.
