ALAMEDA COUNTY (KRON) — One in five Alameda County residents depends on the community food bank for their meals.
This holiday season, the food bank wants people to look out for their collection barrels to help.
Their website has a list of those drop off locations.
They ask that you get something your family would appreciate, in other words, something healthy preferably low sodium.
But their employees say you can also donate money online because with one dollar, they can buy six dollars worth of food.
This is a need they have all year, but traditionally the biggest outpour of support comes during the holiday season and sets them up for the rest of the year.
For more information on how to donate, head to their website or visit FoodNow.net
Or call their helpline at: (800) 870-FOOD (3663) or (510) 635-3663
