San Francisco (KRON) — It’s hard to imagine that a “Wild West,” with uninhabited land and unreliable electricity, exists so close to the heart of bustling San Francisco.
That’s exactly what the far west end of Alameda is like. But Alameda Point won’t remain like that for long. City leaders have big plans for the former Navy land, and by 2020, new housing and business complexes are slated to be completed and ready for residents and entrepreneurs to move in and set up shop.
KRON4 spoke with Mayor Marilyn Ashcraft to find out the latest on what is happening with the island’s many major construction projects, including a brand new ferry terminal. Watch in the video above.
