Two alleged thieves were arrested in Novato on Saturday afternoon after a police pursuit.
According to the Petaluma Police Department, officers were dispatched to a Tommy Hilfiger in the Petaluma Village Premium Outlets on a report of a theft in progress.
Officers say the suspects stole $2,500 worth of merchandise.
The suspects fled the store before the officers arrived.
An officer spotted the suspect vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 101 and tried to stop it. The driver sped up and a pursuit was initiated.
Due to unsafe weather and traffic conditions, the pursuit was terminated and the officer lost sight of the vehicle when it exited San Marin Drive in Novato.
Shortly after, a Novato officer located the abandoned vehicle parked near where it was last seen.
Two women, identified as Leimani Lee-Barker and Erynn Chavis, matching the provided descriptions were located nearby and arrested.
The driver remains outstanding but has been tentatively identified.
However, his name is not being released at this time.
Lee-Barker and Chavis were booked into the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of grand theft.
