A Napa County sheriff’s deputy fatally shot a man with a gun late Sunday night.

It happened around 11 p.m. on the 1100 block of Henry Road.

Officers patrolling the area contacted a driver and there was an altercation.

The driver had a gun and the deputy opened fire, according to officials. The suspect died at the scene.
