(BCN) — An unidentified driver was killed following a solo-vehicle crash Tuesday morning just off eastbound Interstate Highway 580 in unincorporated Alameda County, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash occurred at about 7:20 a.m. east of Flynn Road North east of Livermore.

According to a CHP spokesperson, the vehicle, a 2010 black Ford Edge, was headed eastbound on the 580 in the left lane at a speed of more than 100 mph when it veered right for an unknown reason and crashed down the embankment. The Ford then came to rest “approximately 400 feet south of the south roadway edge of eastbound I-580,” the CHP spokesperson told KRON4.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle. Their identity currently remains unknown as no ID was found. They were pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the CHP. The Dublin CHP told KRON4 it is working with the Alameda County Coroner’s Office to ID the driver, who has been described as a 25-30-year-old man.

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash, the cause of which remains under investigation.
