Authorities: Day care run at LA house where cocaine was sold

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say a Los Angeles man accused of trafficking cocaine out of his house did so while running an unlicensed day care center.

A federal criminal complaint filed this month says 48-year-old Felipe Talamante tried to sell cocaine to an undercover agent.

When the men met to make the sale in May, the agent noticed that children were playing in the home’s front yard. Talamante allegedly said a day care was being operated at the property.

More than 55 pounds (25 kilograms) of cocaine was seized and Talamante was arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. It wasn’t known if he has an attorney.

The city attorney’s office asked a judge Monday to declare the property a public nuisance and to take it away from Talamante.WHAT OTHERS ARE CLICKING ON:
