SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — People are being asked to avoid an area of Park Merced near San Francisco State University due to police activity. The San Francisco Department of Emergency Management sent an alert telling people to avoid the area of Diaz Avenue/Gonzalez Drive, Cardenas Avenue/Gonzalez Drive and Castelo Avenue/Gonzalez Drive.

Emergency crews are on the scene. People are being urged to expect traffic delays, consider alternate routes and allow additional time for travel.
