The child has been identified as Lily Aracic, of Oakland. She is the child of a teacher at Miramonte High School in Moraga.

The child was discovered by a family member just before 4 p.m., it was about 80 degrees at the time of the incident.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, but the cause of death has not been released at this time, according to the Contra Costa County Coroner's Office.

Here is the full statement from the Miramonte High School Principal's Office:

It is with great sadness that I communicate a loss in our Miramonte community.  Yesterday, a beloved teacher's 19-month old daughter passed away unexpectedly. While, out of respect for the privacy of the family, I have no further information to communicate at this time, the passing of a child is always a devastating tragedy. Miramonte is grieving as we process this news.

Support is in place for students in our Wellness Center and plans are being made by leadership to ensure a community of love during this challenging time.  Miramonte is a family and we will be leaning on each other to support our friend, colleague, and teacher.  It is in times like these that the best parts of us can flourish.

Sincerely,

Julie Parks, Principal
