(KRON) — One person is dead after they were struck by an Amtrak train in Berkeley on Wednesday, the Berkeley Police Department confirmed.
The crash happened at about 5:35 p.m. near Harrison Street. The victim died at the scene.
The train stopped after the crash, blocking Gilman Street. There is no estimated time for the street to reopen.
Amtrak police will investigate the crash.
