(BCN) — A man who went missing on his boat in San Francisco Bay after saying he was heading to Petaluma has been located, police said Saturday.

On Tuesday, the family of George Ferguson, who recently bought a 30-foot boat, contacted police and said his whereabouts was unknown. His family had not heard from him since Aug. 18, when he told relatives he had run aground near Alcatraz Island and was assisted by the U.S. Coast Guard, police said.

On Friday, the Solano County Sheriff’s Maritime Unit alerted the Coast Guard that a boat in San Pablo Bay was determined to be Ferguson’s, according to police. Ferguson was found in good health and his boat was towed to a marina in Vallejo.

Details of his travels and the condition of his boat were unavailable, police said.

His family has been contacted and police no longer consider him missing.
