Benicia police officer tests positive for COVID-19

BENICIA, Calif. (KRON) – Officials with the Benicia Police Department on Monday announced one of its police officers has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement, officials said the unnamed officer began experiencing symptoms on Nov. 12 and is currently self-quarantining at home.

It isn’t known how the officer was infected.

Authorities said there was no direct exposure to the community prior to the officer’s diagnosis.
