SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A body was found near the Ferry Building on Sunday morning, the San Francisco Fire Department has confirmed to KRON4.
Officers with the San Francisco Police Department were called to the area of Embarcadero and Ferry Plaza due to a report of a dead body in the water. SFFD arrived on scene first.
Fire crews recovered the body from the water around 10:21 a.m., according to SFPD. SFFD declared the person dead at the scene. The San Francisco Medical Examiner responded to the Ferry Building and took custody of the body.

The Office of the Medical Examiner is leading the investigation. At this time, foul play is not suspected, according to SFPD. No other information was released by authorities at this time.
