A body found off the coast of Pacifica has been identified as a 44-year-old man who was reported missing on Saturday.

On Nov. 24, around 11:15 p.m. Pacifica Police were called about a missing person case.

44-year-old James Arnest had reportedly left this house around 4:30 in the afternoon and never came back.

Police found his car in the Rockaway Beach area, and his cell phone was tracked to the area of Mori Point hiking trail area.

An extensive search continued until boaters about a mile off the coast of Pacifica found a man’s body in the water Sunday morning around 9 a.m.

San Mateo County Coroner’s Office responded and took the body where he was positively identified as the missing man.

Officials say there was no foul play suspect.

There were no other details released at this time.
