Crews are at Fort Funston Monday morning after a body was found in the area where a woman disappeared last month.

Authorities say a woman’s body was found along the beach at around 8 a.m.

The remains where found about a mile north of the main parking lot for Fort Funston.

22-year-old Kyra Sunshine Scarlet, an Oakley resident who was originally from Utah and born in Florida, was buried under a landslide on Feb. 22 when she, her dog, and another woman were walking on the beach when the cliff collapsed.

Officials were able to rescue the other woman.

The body has not yet been identified but the remains were found in the same spot where the cliff collapsed.
