A man in San Jose has been arrested for snatching a woman’s purse which caused her and her daughter to be dragged down the stairs earlier this month.
Police responded to a purse robbery on May 6 in the 1500 block of Towers Lane in San Jose.
Surveillance video was released on Tuesday of the incident showing a woman and her young daughter walking up a flight of stairs when a suspect violently grabbed the victims purse from behind.
This action caused the woman and her daughter to be dragged down the stairs.
Authorities began investigating and searching the area for witnesses and evidence.
Officials determined a black Lexus 4-door as the potential suspect car that was seen leaving the area.
Detectives were then able to identify the suspect as Pablo Cabrera, who is also linked to other purse snatching robberies.
According to authorities, Cabrera would attack Asian women carrying expensive purses from behind and take their purse before running to his car.
The police department was able to arrest Cabrera at his house on Saturday.
At his home, officials found additional evidence which linked him to other robberies.
Authorities say Cabrera was on parole for burglary and was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for robbery and parole violation.
If you have any information in relation to the case, you are asked to contact Detective Daren Reinke of the San Jose Police Department’s Robbery Unit at (408) 277-4166.
