With less than two weeks away from Christmas, the Bay Area is getting into the holiday spirit.
Unfortunately, thieves are also out and about.
Along Gavota Avenue in the Willow Glenn Neighborhood of San Jose about every other house has Christmas decorations up but sadly a few items are missing after thieves struck in the middle of the night.
A home on Gavota is bathed in Christmas lights, flashing candy canes, wreathes, and stars but there are also three of these little signs.
“Mickey Mouse stolen December 4th. 3 a.m. Waiting for ransom call, Minnie Mouse stolen December 11th. 3 a.m. Waiting for ransom call, and Rudolph stolen December 11th at 3a.m. No ransom call yet.”
The residents weren’t home to comment for this story on Wednesday but it’s safe to say they posted these tongue in cheek protest signs because they weren’t happy about having their stuff taken.
Billy Fischer lives just a few houses away and he loves this time of year.
But, Billy is no stranger to having his decorations stolen.
A few years ago, thieves broke into his storage locker and got away with all the Halloween and Christmas decorations.
So far, nothing of his has been stolen this year but he’s upset that someone took his neighbors stuff.
He hopes whoever is stealing decorations will be found and arrested.
Now, the San Jose Police Department is investigating but so far no suspects have been identified.
