PLEASANTON, Calif. (KRON) – Crews responded to a brush fire burning in Pleasanton on Friday night.
Initially, Cal Fire SCU said the fire burned 35 acres near the Callippe Preserve, and was going at “a moderate rate of spread.” However, it was actually contained at 16 acres, officials clarified on Saturday morning.
Multiple agencies had responded.
Cal Fire says initially the wind pushed the fire, and wind was a big factor as they battled the flames. But the humidity came through and helped with the suppression.
The fire was reported around 9 p.m. The cause is unknown.
No injuries were reported. KRON4 is waiting for further comment from firefighters.
