VACAVILLE, Calif. (KRON) — Crews are responding to a vegetation fire Saturday afternoon in the area of Quail Canyon Road and Pleasants Valley Road in Vacaville, Cal Fire announced on Twitter. As of 5 p.m., evacuation orders were issued by the Solano County Office of Emergency Services.
However, as of 8:30 p.m., the evacuation order has been reduced to an evacuation warning. Earlier around 4:30 p.m., the evacuation was initially issued as a warning.
As of 10:15 p.m., officials said the fire is approximately 135 acres. The fire is 45% contained.
All residences on Pleasants Valley Road from Shale Peak Road North to Highway 128 and from west of Pleasants Valley Road to the Blue Ridge County line were warned to evacuate during the 5 p.m. hour, officials said.
They said the earlier evacuation order was due to “immediate threat to life.” The Solano County Office of Emergency Services added it was a “lawful order to leave now” when the order was issued.
The Vacaville Fire Protection District first tweeted about the fire at 3:15 p.m. A photo (above) posted by the officials shows the fire burning across the hills in that area.
Cal Fire advises travelers in the area to drive with caution and give way to emergency vehicles.
