MARIN COUNTY (KRON) — Another dead gray whale washed ashore in the Bay Area Thursday morning, this time at a beach along the Point Reyes National Seashore in Marin County.

The Marine Mammal Center said the whale washed up on Limantour Beach at Point Reyes. Experts have not determined the age or cause of death for the whale.

The center has responded to 13 whale strandings since March, with 12 of those in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Another dead whale washed ashore in Pacifica just last week in the area of San Pedro Point and Linda Mar.

Other whales have been found dead on beaches in San Francisco and Rodeo.

The Marine Mammal Center has not said when a necropsy will be performed on the latest whale found in Marin County.
