LIVERMORE, Calif. (KRON) — Eastbound I-580 in Livermore is open after being closed earlier Thursday afternoon due to a possible shooting, according to California Highway Patrol. Authorities had responded to an incident of shots being fired on I-580 near First Street.

CHP said one person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries but have not confirmed whether or not the victim’s injuries are from a shooting.

The incident caused more traffic congestion than normal, according to Livermore police. Drivers werre advised to take alternate routes as the traffic lanes were shut down from around 2:10 p.m. to 5 p.m., according to CHP.
