FAIRFIELD (KRON) – Firefighters are responding to a two-alarm structure fire in the 300 block of Tulip Street, according to a tweet from the Fairfield Fire Department. It appears the crews were able to quickly bring the fire under control.
“Unfortunately a victim was located and pronounced deceased on scene. Firefighters will remain in scene for mop up and an investigation,” the department posted on social media. “A victim has been located,” the department tweeted in response to its initial tweet.
The fire department and Fairfield police didn’t immediately respond to requests for additional information. People were urged to avoid the area.
