Friends of a missing 38-year-old Daly City woman are asking for the public’s help after she disappeared Saturday in San Francisco.
Christa Mahoney was last seen at around 1 p.m. at a John’s Grill on Ellis Street in San Francisco.
Mahoney’s friend says she suffers from a life-threatening chronic illness and fear she’s in “grave danger.”
“She’s never gone missing and what’s especially concerning is she left her dog,” said Paula Lykins, friend of Mahoney.
She tells KRON4 her personal belongings including her wallet and phone were found on a Muni bus later that day.
Her dog, Buddy, was also found later that evening wandering on Grant and Geary and picked up by Animal Care and Control.
“[Her dog] is her constant companion and her dog was picked up by animal care and control and no one’s inquired about him, so we’re really very worried,” said Lykins. “As most dog-lovers know you don’t just lose your dog and don’t try to find him.”
Mahoney is 5’2” and weighs about 90 lbs, she has light brown hair and brown eyes and speaks with an English accent.
“She’s been ill, so she could be sick and someone could have taken advantage of her,” said Lykins. “She’s a young, 38-year-old woman, attractive. We just want to make sure she’s safe and okay.”
On the day she went missing, she was wearing an orange and white baseball cap.
KRON4 spoke to the Daily City Police Department who confirmed they are actively investigating this missing persons case.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Daly City Police at (650) 991-8119, reference case #19000706.
