Horrifying Santa Rosa police video shows door-to-door North Bay Firestorm evacuations in October.

The video shows evacuations from Oct. 8 or 9 of last year, as police went door-to-door telling residents to get out as the massive fire approached.

The evacuations happened between 11 p.m. Oct. 8 and 7 a.m. Oct. 9.

In Santa Rosa, 117 homes destroyed by the fires are under construction.

The fire charred at least 245,000 acres and cost $9.4 billion.

Nearly 9,000 buildings were destroyed and 44 people were killed.
